PE HURUMANU With Miss Simpson

Welcome back to my blog today we are in hurumanu PE we are with Miss Simpson. Today we are quite tired as we did the beep test.

Why do you think we do fitness? I think we do fitness to keep us fit and we can try to beat our score.

Here are all my results for what we did:

Vertical Jump
    M1:2.1
     M2: 2.3

Sit and Reach:
23

Sit Ups: 24

Grip Test: 22

Beep Test: 3.1

I think I need to work on my running as I did not pass level 5, I think I will practice running in my own time so I can beat my score.

I was working well with my group by recording down there scores.
For the beep test I was cheering on all the contestants that were still in the beep test after I gave up.  By cheering on all the girls in who were still in they probably did not get as far as they did. Tasharn made it to 7.8 which she beat her sister Tahnesha. All the girls when they past level 5 was kind of struggling but they still keep going, which was good.

Rounding DLO

Welcome back to my blog today we were making DLOS on rounding I was working with Jaz in this DLO, We hope this can help you with Rounding.

Hurumanu - From Trash to Gas: Biomass

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Aim: To compare the amount of gas that is produced from different types of biomass.

Material:
  1.   Mashed banana
  2. Vegetable Peelings
  3.   Bottle
  4.   Horse manure
  5.   Balloon
  6.   cups

Investigation.

What is biomass?

  2. 2.
organic matter used as a fuel, especially in a power station for the generation of electricity.

What are the 5 types of biomass?

  1.  Wood
  2.  Garbage
  3.  Crops
  4.  Landfill Gas
  5.   Alcohol fuels
What are three benefits of biomass?
  1. It is carbon neutral
  2. It reduces the overreliance of fossil fuels
  3. Is less expensive than fossil fuels
What are three disadvantages of biomass?
  1. Biomass is always and widely available as a renewable source of energy. ... It is carbon neutral. ... It reduces the overreliance of fossil fuels. ... Is less expensive than fossil fuels. ...
  2. Biomass production adds a revenue source for manufacturers. ... Less garbage in landfills.
  3. Biomass energy is not as efficient as fossil fuels.

Research the following types of Biomass.
You will need to:
Write a definition of the each fuel.
Answer each question
  • How is it made?
  • What is it used for?
  • Where is it made?
  • What is it made with?
  • What countries use it?
Place 2 images of the fuel.

200 million

When will Fairborn be flooded?
In the next 26 years

What are some of the other things that will be 'swallowed by the waves'?
  1. Gas Plants
  2. Power stations
  3.  Toxic Dumps

How can we stop climate change?
  1.    Stop using Gas
  2.    All cars/buses need to use hydrogen or batteries
  3.  Fly Less

CURBING CLIMATE CHANGE

What is the one, silver bullet solution?

What is the mix of things we need to start doing?
  1.
  2.

What are 3 others you can think of?
  1.
  2.

Activity: Ranking climate change issues.

Using the worksheet,  rank the issues from climate change.

MY INVESTIGATION

Aim: To look at how I can prevent climate change in the future.

1. Complete the activity Ecological Handprint.

2. Complete the activity Carbon Footprint.

What will you do to stop climate change? Using ideas from the Ecological Handprint and Carbon Footprint list 10 changes that you can make to stop Climate change?

  • In Art I learned about how to use Stop Motion and to download it to my drive it took a little long to figure it out, we then had to add our voices overtop of the stopmotion
What I enjoyed:
  • In hurumanu this term i enjoyed making clay models and getting to use something that I don't get to use everyday it is clay and an app called stop motion as i have never used it on a computer.
What I found difficult:
  • The part I found difficult was making the clay stay but i ended up making the clay stay, we had to take the picture fast so now our stopmotion is way to fast for our script.

Cip Mufti day

Welcome back to my blog today we are in CIP. In the past week we have been planning for a mufti day we have had to choose themes for the day we had a lot of ideas for the day so we decided to vote for the theme. The theme is RADICAL RAINBOW We are raising money for Kids Can, when we collect all the money is going to kids can for everyone who needs the important things like new shoes and food packages. We are spreading kindness by giving the money to kids can to help support the things they need like the important things.
It is a gold coin donation.
