Yesterday we Had Emma Come to our School She is the Summer learning journey leader, She came and talked to us about What to do for the summer learning journey, She then gave us flags with links on them and it took us to a tab all about the flag we chose we only had 10 minututes and we had to look at some flags and chose one flag we like the most me and Layla chose England So here are some facts about England we hope you enjoy and make sure you go to see Layla's blog.

Summer learning journey Prize 2018-2019

The Summer Learning journey is where you Can keep all your work that the teachers have teached you and so you will not go down. There are Around about 60 Activities to do and there are 4 weeks to Complete you are only aloud to complete a 3 challenges a day to activitys and 1 bonus activity which you can get 10 points a bonus activity and a normal activity you can get around about 5-6 points.

Life ducation with Harold

Last Week Harold The Giraffe and some of his human friends came to teach us about our body and how to be a team. When they arrived they were in a trailer so they could be transported around. The two people we had were Amanda and Jo. 



Harold was a Giraffe at Orana Park. He is a amazing and funny giraffe.
I enjoyed going and seeing Harold the giraffe.

Calender Art

For Calender art this week we have learnt to draw geometric abstraction with 2d shapes.
I really enjoyed geometric abstraction but I found it difficult to get the sharp shapes.First we had to draw the shapes on paper with a ruler and then after we got that done we got colors and cut out the shapes and then we placed the shapes where we wanted to have them and then put glue on the back of the shapes and stuck them where we wanted them.

Prefixes part 2!!

For Phonics this week we were learning about prefixes again and had to do another slide explaining what we had to find for this week. So I made a slide about explaining the four prefixes that we were doing. I hope you enjoy.

How sea turtles grow into an adult

For the past two weeks Mrs Jacks reading groups have been learning how a Sea Turtle grows from a egg to a adult. So we had to make a expiation about how they grow up. Please give me more feedback if you know any thing that I didn't put in my writing.

Hosting Assembly

On week 10 I hosted assembly with my friends it was really creepy. We were frightened because there was alot of people sitting down and recording us doing the assembly. The slides I did was slide 2, slide 7, slide 11 and we all did slide 14. It was really hard because we had to find time to make all of the slides and add the writing on it. There was only 1 person who was away we had to fill in her slide because she was away

Chinese new year finshed

For the last 2 weeks we have been learning about chinese  new year and this is what I learned: was born in 2008.⭐It is the most colourful festival in the world⭐The children get red envelopes with lucky money in them⭐There is dragon festivals⭐Chinese New Year is also called Lunar New Year or Spring Festival ⭐the Chinese zodiac calendar has a cycle of 12 years.⭐The 12 Chinese zodiac animals are: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse,goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig.⭐families will visit each other and hand over little gifts. ⭐Children sometimes get oranges, sweets or coins. Get it in even numbers⭐Don’t cut your hair because you are cutting the good luck⭐The date of chinese new year changes each year⭐Chinese new year is also known as spring festival⭐People enjoy eating lots of delicious food, including noodle soup, which traditionally brings luck for the year ahead.⭐The festivities continue for two weeks, finishing with a special lantern festival, which signals the end of the New Year celebration period.

Phonics prefixes

Last term we did this word search and it had letters and there were words we had to find. It was not easy Itr was very very hard to find the words we had to make sure they were real words. This was my presentation of prefixes. I hope you enjoy.

This term in S.T.E.M we have been learning about bird feeders.
Process of learning: What steps hav we taken in class aid our learning
Challenges: I found getting all the peices together was challengening because it was hard finding all the bits was very hard.

Today demon dentist were reading pirates plunder it was kinda hard to read because ther was two words that was hard to say it was: Bartholomew and Barbarian it was fun reading the book.

Isabel clark's story

On Monday we started started ANZAC things.We all choose a piece of work we had to see what my one was The Memorial Oaks Plan this is the slide we came up with 
 the things it was about  that it said  there was a unsolved mystery or there 
was no unsolved mystery it was quite  hard working on it.It took us about
4 days to do these slides.

What is sustainability

This morning I learnt about what it means to be sustainable A small change I can make  to be more sustainable is to look after the water in the sea/pools.

Dirtbike and Classical Sparks 2018

In writing we had to write something that we did in the weekend this is my piece of writing that I did it took me a while to deiced on what words to put on the piece of writing that I was writing then I edited it and I had to add wow words to my writing.

Modelling book

On a frozen morning.It was sunday.When Bob woke up he leapt out of bed. Then he went to the bounced to the kitchen to have his breakfast it was fruit muesli. After he had his muesli he went back up to his room and got dressed  into his red fluffy jacket and black track pants and his brown fluffy boots and made his bed…

When I got to the frosty,frozen lake I realized that I left my ice skates at home. So I had to sit on the seat near the lake. Suddenly, Ellie came up to me and said “ why are you sitting there”. Then Bob said
“Because I have left my Ice skates at my house…”

Then I asked her if she could let me down and she said “Yeah sure, But on the condition you can’t play with my kite ever again” after the talk she got a pair of scissors and cut me of the tree and I said “awwwwwwwwwwww” that hurt me said Bob. Then Bob said to Ellie that he will not fly Ellie’s kite again. And that day on  Bob went to his house and got his ice skates and ran back down to the lake when he got to the lake he took his shoes that he was wearing off and put his ice skates and Skates on the ice with Ellie and then that day they became friends. Ellie said how come we are friends when I was mean to you.Do you want to be best friends forever and never have a fight again and never be mean to each other again. The very next day Bob went to the lake again and bumped into Ellie  and they skated with each other.

In writing we have been learning about vocabulary in writing.We looked at a picture and thought critically about it. We used lots of reflective questions to think about the picure. What I thought it was hard because we had to think about vocabulary.

Being responsible with chromebooks

In cybersmart I have been learning about being responsible with chromebooks.First we put our prior knowledge on a padlet.Then we buddied up and created a infografic about being responsible with chromebooks.I found it hard because it was hard to decide what to put in sine we know alot about being safe with chromebooks.

Kite art

For the start of term 1 we have been learning about  moari kite design. To make a kite we had a piece of paper we had to draw on and make patterns on it. Then Mrs Jack and Mr Goodin gave us six sticks and we had to put them in to a triangle shape well that's how a kite looks when we were finshed we had to finish off the paper pattens then we drew the pattens on the plastic and after we drew the pattens on the plastic we had to choose from bows as the tail or feathers and tissue paper I choose the feathers and tissue paper after we done that we had to take it upi to the teacher and get it on the wall.
